Sweetened Simplicity - Digital Art Course


I have conducted a number of face-to-face art tutorials and classes so far.  This is the first time I am venturing my tutoring activities online.  My first online art class, namely Sweetened Simplicity, will be on creating digital art with Adobe Photoshop.  During the class you will be able to create digital artworks using simple shape and methods.  You will only NEED Adobe Photoshop. You DO NOT NEED TO purchase a tablet of any kind to creat digital art and the class is compatible with any version of Photoshop.  In case you already have a tablet, that’s OK, you can still use it throughout the class. 
The class is suitable for both beginners and experienced people.  You will get videos and PDF every week during the course and the duration is 7 weeks and we will go through the baby steps from absolute basics to advanced stuff... Session 2 of the class will begins on May 2012.


WHY SHOULD WE DO DIGITAL ART? WHY?
We always try to find new ways of making art and new supplies to create our artworks.  We do depend a lot on our materials in art making.  Digital art is now gaining pace as more artists use it as an ideal medium to express their creativity.  Adobe Photoshop has become one of the most favourite tool and its popularity is ever increasing.  I have a feeling that for us artists, Photoshop as a software can help us to create  nice artworks. 

There are a number of advantages in doing digital art. Firstly wherever we are, as long as we’ve a laptop or a computer we can create art, without the need to carry bulky supplies. Most importantly, from the time an idea struck in our minds, we can work from the scratch to the final work in one go. With the added flexibility of being able to pause or to go non-stop without having to wait for the paint to dry. Another personal preference of mine is that it’s so EASY to print! I don’t have to go through the trouble of scanning or photographing. The original is in the computer and I can just print it out, straight from the good quality colour printer and the fine quality is AWESOME!!!

I will be available to participate and provide support throughout the course, including extra two weeks after the seventh week when the course completes. During that extra two weeks, there will be special challenges.  All the discussions and activities will remain in the class and it can be able to access even you've finished the course, so that you can always watch the videos whenever you want.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE COURSE
You will need ADOBE PHOTOSHOP (any full version), and a mouse!
That’s it really!!!
No you won’t need a tablet.  We will just create pretty stuffs with the mouse.
If you already have a tablet, that’s fine too.
If you only have Photoshop Elements, you can still follow my class with the most
functions of Elements and I will try to give you additional guidlines for those people.
I believe that my class will be suitable for everyone.
